Public and private spaces are being redefined through thoughtful, sustainable design, and two recent projects showcase this transformation beautifully: the Town Hall of Roeselare and The Brain Ambassy in Antwerp. Each project demonstrates how innovative furniture can elevate spaces by merging aesthetics, functionality, and environmental responsibility.

  • The Town Hall of Roeselare: A Pioneering Approach to Public Spaces

The Town Hall of Roeselare represents a new approach to sustainable public spaces. Designed with both aesthetics and environmental responsibility in mind, this project integrates innovative outdoor furniture that enhances both functionality and visual appeal.

One standout element is The Circle Set, featuring a tabletop made of hardwood and a powder-coated steel frame that ensures stability. With seating for up to ten people, it is ideal for communal gatherings. Complementing this, The Shadow provides essential sun protection with a convenient tilt function, ensuring comfort throughout the day.

Additionally, The Duo, was delivered in a flat-pack package, what offers a compact yet comfortable seating option. Made from premium-quality aluminium, it is both durable and lightweight, making it easy to reposition as needed.

Every piece of furniture was carefully chosen for its durability, eco-friendliness, and timeless design. The layout maximizes usability, offering ample space for social gatherings and work sessions. The carefully curated colour palette; featuring yellow-grey, copper brown, and pale green adds a warm yet sophisticated touch to the space.

  • The Brain Ambassy: Transforming Urban Rooftops

The Brain Ambassy project in Antwerp highlights Wünder’s expertise in transforming ordinary rooftops into exceptional outdoor spaces. Situated in the heart of the city, this project underscores the importance of stylish, durable, and practical furniture in urban environments.

With the installation of the four large Tables, seating up to twelve people each, the rooftop has become a dynamic hub for social gatherings, work sessions, and leisure moments. Crafted from firm hardwood with a powder-coated steel frame, this table ensures both comfort and durability. Its yellow-grey colour seamlessly integrates into the urban backdrop, maintaining a modern and refined look.

These two projects exemplify how innovative furniture design can transform both public and private spaces, merging sustainability, style, and functionality in perfect harmony. By incorporating high-quality, eco-friendly materials, these spaces set a new standard for urban outdoor design. Proving that beauty and practicality can go hand in hand. Whether in a bustling city square or a serene rooftop terrace, these thoughtfully designed elements invite people to connect, work, and relax in settings that are as sustainable as they are stunning.
