Michiel Hofman

Michiel Hofman (1971, Aken, Germany) was raised in Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands. He studied architecture at the Delft University of Technology and Politecnico di Milano, where he met Barbara Dujardin. In 1999, together they founded architecture firm HofmanDujardin. In 2018 the practice transformed an old warehouse into their Office Villa in Diemen. Here, HofmanDujardin grew to a team of 40 architects and designers who work on ever bigger projects, expanding their horizon to Europe and beyond. In 2021, HofmanDujardin opened a second office in Bilbao.

The firm works on projects of various types and scales for both professional and private clients, ranging from newly built architecture, renovations and transformations to interior design and product design. Recently completed projects are Rembrandt Park One, ING HQ, Google Amsterdam, and Booking.com Campus. While both partners are involved in every project, Michiel has an analytic approach, with a focus on concept and strategy phases at the start of projects. His strong belief in the implementation of the design philosophy Shaping Intuition^® ensures his ideas on quality and human wellbeing are included on all scales of every project.
