Maarten van Bremen

Graduated at TU Delft, Maarten van Bremen founded GROUP A in 1996 together with Folkert van Hagen and Adam Smit. He is an expert in the field of reuse and renovation focusing on early modern architecture and monuments. His award winning work comprises the renovation of the brutalist subway stations of the Metro Oostlijn Amsterdam, the renovation of the nautic monumental office Damen Shipyard in Vlissingen and the transformation of a former 14.500 sqm warehouse in Rotterdam’s harbor district into an activity-based building offering space to sustainably create, produce and meet.

These projects have been awarded the NRP Gulden Feniks, Frame Award and Dutch Daylight Award. GROUP A’s work has been exhibited at Design Museum in London, Cultural Capital Porto and ARCAM in Amsterdam, among others.
