3-4 November 2027, RAI Amsterdam

Sandra Klaasman

Interior Architect, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

My name is Sandra J. Klaasman. I have studied Architecture at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague and work as an interior architect for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands for many years. I have been involved in the design and renovation of residences and offices for Dutch diplomatic posts around the world. Now responsible for the interiors of the diplomatic posts in Europe.

I’m experienced in managing interior projects, in working with teams in multidisciplinary complex projects within international contexts. I focus on balancing functionality, context, and long-term use. I enjoy working within a team, working in different countries, and meeting different cultures. It’s always a team effort and communication is key. In my work the end-user always takes a very important central place.

Over the years, I have collaborated with a wide range of leading architecture firms in the Netherlands including Atelier PRO, Hubert-Jan Henket, Rudy Uytenhaak, OMA, Erick van Egeraat, ZJA, EGM, HKDHV, CePeZed, Odette Ex, Studio Groen+Schild and many architects abroad. My work has covered many projects across Europe and Asia, often dealing with sensitive political circumstances, complex assignments involving monuments, hybrid working concepts. Now dealing with, as we all do,  Sustainability, Re-use and Circularity.
