Laura Favata

Laura is a partner and architect at De Unie Architecten, with offices in Groningen and Amsterdam. She leads the Amsterdam studio, where her work explores how sustainability and climate resilience can be combined with strong aesthetic ambitions, embedding both seamlessly into architectural practice and community life.

Originally from Italy, Laura has spent nearly twenty years living and working in the Netherlands. This international background has given her a keen interest in how cultural perspectives shape architecture and influence the way design engages with society.

She is also active in architectural education, having taught at the Academy of Architecture and the Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen, where she has guided future architects. In 2024, she served as a jury member for the Architectenweb Awards
