Jan Paul de Ridder

Associate Interior Architect, EGM architects

Jan Paul de Ridder (1969) graduated cum laude as an interior architect from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam in 1996. His graduation project was nominated for the Drempelprijs award at the time, and a few years later he received a nomination for the Maaskantprijs award for young artists.

Jan Paul has developed a broad design practice throughout his career, with experience in landscape design and product development in addition to his core expertise in interior architecture. He has worked on a wide range of projects, from public spaces and healthcare environments to furniture collections and brand identities. His work always focuses on designing meaningful environments that are both functional and emotionally resonant for their users.

Jan Paul and his team were recently responsible for the interior design of the new headquarters of The Magnum Ice Cream Company in Amsterdam – the spin-off of Unilever’s ice cream division. This project marks not only the visual and functional launch of a new global organisation, but also the creation of the accompanying Brandbook for the global rollout of the company’s architectural brand identity.
