Fredy Fortich
Architect Engineer, MVRDV
Fredy Fortich, an Architect and Engineer specializing in computational design, has been pivotal in advancing MVRDV’s integration of artificial intelligence and BIM into architectural practice. Since joining MVRDV, he has served as a Technical Architect and BIM Manager at the French and Asia Studios, contributing his expertise in BIM coordination, performance-based design, generative design, and machine learning methods.
Working closely with MVRDV’s Studio Directors and architects, Fredy ensures streamlining the design and delivery process. His recent projects emphasize the integration of AI into various design stages, including brainstorming, conceptualization, and rendering.
Fredy has significantly contributed to several successful MVRDV projects, notably the Shenzhen Women & Children’s Centre, completed in 2023. In this project, he played a key role in transforming an old mixed-use tower into a vibrant skyscraper, setting a precedent for adaptive reuse in Shenzhen.
Fredy is also actively involved in academia. He regularly gives lectures and teaches workshops on generative architecture with AI, sharing his knowledge on integrating AI into design workflows. His presentations include: Bienalle Tecnologia of Torino, AI in Practice UK Summit, University of Eindhoven, University of Delft, Willem de Kooning Academy C2C Circularity, Nordfy, Parametric Academy, and Mesh Official Autodesk Training Center.
