Coen is the CEO and a partner at D/DOCK, a leading architecture and design studio based in Amsterdam. With over 20 years of expertise in workspace, hospitality, and healthcare design, the studio has completed more than 200 office projects across the globe. D/DOCK’s portfolio includes headquarters for Microsoft and offices for global companies such as Facebook, Google, Amgen, Uniqure, and JetBrains.

D/DOCK’s success stems from its ability to redefine workspaces by prioritising human-centred design and performance. With a forward-thinking approach, the studio creates ‘Healing Environments’ that integrate functionality with well-being, sustainability, and neurodiversity, nurturing inclusivity and supporting diverse cognitive and sensory experiences.
Coen’s philosophy also champions the concept of blended use, where workspaces combine professional, social, and recreational elements. This approach not only maximises space but also activates buildings, opening them up to the community and surrounding neighbourhoods. D/DOCK’s own office, DB55, was the first prototype of the blended venue concept. Located in Amsterdam’s Houthavens, DB55 is a dynamic space where work, sports, arts, and celebrations converge daily, creating unique synergies among its inhabitants.
